Supplements on A Budget: 7 Tips to Help You Get The Most out of Your Buck

Living a fitness lifestyle can be very expensive. There are monthly gym membership fees, workout gears, quality foods, and gas for the daily or weekly trip to the gym you have to pay for but there are also supplements to assist in achieving your fitness goal to pay for as well. If you are on a budget or just wondering how you are going to meet your supplement needs with the money you got, we have listed 7 strategies that will save you money and help you get the most out of your buck.

1. Buy in bulk

Instead of buying your supplements in small quantity or for the short-term, buy your supplements in bulk. Most supplement stores price their products lower when you are buying them in bulk rather than in small quantity. It will cost you less per serving when you buy them in bulk. Supplement stores also offer you coupons and free stuff when you buy in bulk. For example, bodybuilding.com gives you free coupons when you spend certain amounts.

2. Look for on sale products

Supplement stores always have products on sale. These include discounted products, products on clearance, new and promo products. Look for these products and you often find some products that fit your needs and save you money. Using coupons will also save you a bunch and many stores offer coupons through their site, fitness magazine, or sites like coupons.com or groupons.com.

3. Compare brands

Compare the brands that you usually buy with other brands. Most likely you will find that some brands are cheaper than others. Many online supplement stores have tools that allow you to compare the price per serving of several brands and pick the best brand that meets your budget.

4. Shop around

Don’t limit yourself to one or two stores. One store may be selling the same product that another is selling at a lower price. Try browsing online stores to compare prices of certain brands. Most online stores will allow you compare prices of different products and will match the price from other stores. There are also lots of sites that are known for their cheap prices such as supplementwarehouse.com, bodybuilding.com, amazon.com, etc..

5. Consider shipping costs

Shipping can add cost to your supplement expenses but you have options. Either go to your nearest store in town or shop from sites with free shipping or low shipping costs. Some sites also eliminate your shipping cost when you buy a certain amount.

6. Mix or stack supplements

Instead of buying a multipurpose supplement buy your supplements individually from different brands and mix or stack them. Stacking or mixing products will cut the cost per serving and thus reduce your overall total cost in the long-run.

7. Join a club

Joining a membership club will also cut you a bunch. Membership stores like Sam’s Club and Costco offer many supplement products at the lowest cost you could find anywhere. The downside is that you have to pay a membership fee upfront but it is well worth it because in the long-run you will save more.
